Practical Training

 

A requirement of the BSc Construction Economics Management degree and the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying degreeat UCT is to complete 160 hours of relevant practical training per year of study. This practical training should be full-time employment during vacations or part-time employment during term time.

It is then required that a report and daily diary are written and endorsed by the employer.

 

The reports outline the practical training experience that I have undertaken to date and can be found under the Practical Training tab.

My practical training has been completed as follows:

 

First year, 2014:

  • Gossow & Harding Construction

  • SBDS Quantity Surveyors

  • ABES Community Build 2014

 

Second year, 2015:

  • Power Construction

  • ABES Community Build 2015

 

Third year, 2016:

  • H&I Projects (Pty) Ltd

  • CIOB Global Student Challenge

Fourth (Hons) year, 2017:

  • SBDS Quantity Surveyors
